Purposes of Regionalization

 

  1. Group together training programs that are geographically close to each other for the purpose of sharing resources like cases, equipment and consultants that will enhance the capabilities of the training programs within this grouping to provide the best environment for the conduct of orthopaedic resident training.
  2. Correct the deficiencies that may be existing within a particular program that prevents them from being accredited or reaccredited through sharing of resources.
  3. Help resolve any conflicts among and between the residents and consultants participating in the training programs and thereby promote more cooperation for the good of each training program within the group.
  4. Share among the group best practices that can enhance the capabilities of each and every member of the group.
